This program is for frontline supervisors and/or leading hands. Why are supervisors so important? Supervisors are the key to high performance and safety in the workplace. The program focuses on both the ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ skills required to be an effective supervisor.

These include:

• Taking initiative to improve performance
• Safety Leadership
• Resolving conflict and building teams
• Operational planning
• Communicating expectations
• Developing work priorities

• Providing performance feedback
• Creating performance improvement plans

Most high performance skills require practice for true learning to occur. In this program, supervisors get to practice using the tools in a team environment that they will be expected to use at work. They create both an action plan for further improvement AND they redesign their job so that high performance work practices can occur.

Developing a high performance team is a different set of skills to maintaining high performance. Our unique processes and tools enable teams to transfer the learning to sustained performance in the workplace.

Enriched with 'discovery learning' the program creates an environment to explore beyond immediate perceptions, to examine personal beliefs and values, to challenge assumptions about perceived limitations, and to push the limits and find out what happens.

This program presents an opportunity to enhance your current effectiveness in leading and managing individuals and teams by expanding your range of skills in the areas of coaching and conducting performance appraisals. This will provide participants with the knowledge, skill and commitment to ensure regular formal feedback is carried out.

Objectives

The Coaching and Performance Management program has been designed to help you:

• Develop specific coaching skills and techniques engaging with individuals and teams
• Develop supervisors/managers who are able to facilitate the development, learning and performance of individuals and teams

• Gain insight and an understanding of the impact of your own personal style
• Better recognise the critical components underlying effective coaching as a tool leading to continuous performance improvement
• To practice focused, disciplined processes for coaching to ensure successful outcomes in each coaching intervention

Outcomes

On completion of this program, it is expected that you will better manage the performance, learning and development of individuals and teams you manage. You will be able to implement a range of strategies to allow developmental and coaching opportunities for the workforce; and be able to conduct effective performance appraisals.
